Caption Reads: An Apache fiddle, or "the wood that sings," was probably modeled after violins that white settlers brought to the Southwest. The sound box is made out of a hollowed-out yucca stalk, and a peg is used to tighten the single sinew string. Holes near the top of the fiddle help modulate the sound. The instrument is played with a bow. | |
